No. 1 Holy Trinity Academy Knights (4-0) – The Knights are coming off a bye and they are going right into with their game against undefeated (3-0) Hunting Hills Lightning in Red Deer, Alberta. The Lightning are coming off a 17-12 win against Notre Dame (RD) and will have the momentum train behind them. But they face a fresh and rested Knights team that can do a whole bunch of damage in a short period of time. This will be a great game to get to.
No. 2 Bishop J. Mahoney Saints (3-0, 0-1) – The Saints won 40-1 over Tommy Douglas.
No. 3 Collège Bourget Voltigeurs (4-0) – After a convincing 40-6 win over Académie Les Estacades, this next match is one that everyone has been waiting for in great anticipation. The undefeated Voltigeurs face the other undefeated (4-0) team, the Séminaire Saint-Joseph Vert et Or. These teams are so evenly matched, it is hard to say who’s going to come out of this one with the win. The Vert et Or are also coming off a 37-7 victory over Pointe-Lévy. Bourget beat Pointe-Lévy 46-21 in week 2 of the regular season. The Vert et Or beat Académie Les Estacades, 44-14, so you can see the similar performances by both teams with common opponents. We are excited to watch how this one plays out.
No. 4 Vernon Panthers (1-0, 2-0) – With their second shutout of the season, 28-0, against Clarence Fulton, the Panthers show no signs of slowing down their quest to defend their Provincial AA Championship title. This week’s opponent, Salmon Arm, shouldn’t put a wrinkle in their plans. We are pretty confident, the Panthers will come out of this one still undefeated and possibly another shutout.
Some unedited shots from the Cochrane @cobras_football's 35-7 win over the Springbank Phoenix. It was 7-7 early into the second quarter and 14-7 at the half, but Cochrane's strength and depth came through in the second half. pic.twitter.com/t2CL2LCT9V

No. 5 Cochrane Cobras (4-0, 0-1) – The Cobras handily beat Springbank 35-7 this past weekend and will head into their bye week. According to the Cobra’s twitter, they are on their way down to California on Thursday for 6 days for “some football fun”. We wish them a safe trip.

Who’s getting ranked?
For the first time, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national ‘Small School’ high school football rankings known as the CFC25.
The CFC25 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are classified as non-conference games) and forfeit* wins are not considered towards overall record.
How is the CFC25 evaluated?
Leagues/teams included in rankings:
- British Columbia: AA Varsity
- Alberta: Tier 2-4
- Saskatchewan: 12-man 3A rural, Saskatoon – 5A, Regina – Stewart
- Manitoba: Division 2 and 3 Varsity
- Ontario: NSSAA – Haldimand-Norfolk, BAA – Bluewater, COSSAA – Kawartha, COSSAA – Bay of Quinte, LRFL – Lanark-Refrew, LGSSAA – Brockville, EOFC – Cornwall
- Quebec: Juvenile Division 1b
- New Brunswick: 12-man D2E and D2W
- Nova Scotia: Parkview, Millwood, West Kings, Central Kings, Halifax West, Horton, JL Isley, Sydney Academy, Avon View
The CFC25 is a RELATIVE RANKING that considers small school leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province) and the strength of the league. Additional criteria used to determine the relative ranking are the ability to accomplish winning a championship, the impact players and performers on that team (ie. CFC100s, CDN All-Stars etc.), and a team’s coaching and recent tradition.
The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The CFC25 is released every Tuesday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.
