Make it three for CFC100 Kinsale Philip

We’re heading back to B.C today for our daily recruiting update, and this time it was CFC100 Kinsale Philip out of CFC50 New Westminster who attracted his third offer on the trail. The athletic specimen was already entertaining Manitoba and Simon Fraser, but the options continue to grow as decision day draws near.

“Their recruiting coordinator got in touch with me and I was really glad that the conversation felt personal and we talked lots more than football. They have a fast track program into law school that interested me. Theyā€™re a great program.”

CFC100/CFC60 Recruiting Stories

Unfortunately Kinsale Philip couldn’t wrap up his career at New Westminster with back-to-back provincial titles, but there’s brighter days ahead for the dual-athlete who’s got star potential written all over him. Philip finished 2018 with almost 400 yards of total offence with four touchdowns from under centre, and he also racked 17 tackles on defence – all of this in five games instead of the full seven. He already attracted offers from local Simon Fraser and Manitoba, but now he’s got the Saskatchewan Huskies hoping he’ll suit up in green and white for some prairie football.

I’m not sure where programs envision him playing at the next level, but Philips says he’s intrigued by the Huskies potential after visiting their campus earlier in his high school career,

“Iā€™ve been to Saskatoon a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the city. I took a tour of U Of S and their facilities were really nice. Their recruiting coordinator got in touch with me and I was really glad that the conversation felt personal and we talked lots more than football. They have a fast track program into law school that interested me. Theyā€™re a great program.”

Saskatchewan also have offers outstanding for CFC100sĀ Kalin Betts and Jaxon Hume, which has been supplemented by the commitments of CFC100s Ramsey Derbas, Dylan McNutt and Tanner Szakacs. Huskies are hot right now, so don’t be surprised if we hear from them again very soon whether with an offer or commitment.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
