CFC100 Tom Brow
For Tom Brow, the StFX offered him everything he wanted and more.
βI chose StFX because I liked the small school atmosphere and home in the Maritimes,β Brow said. βI really liked the coaches, players and academic support offered to players. I also love the X-Ring and want to sport one myself.β
He added that he really liked the coaching staff. βHead Coach Waterman is very experienced and promised me he would grow me not only as a player but as a student and as a person. Iβm also very excited to work with offensive line coach Dave Van Den Heuvel,β Brow said.
Hailing from Saint Johnβs, New Brunswick, Brow played for the Saint John High School Greyhounds (NBHSFL) in 2017 and 2019. In 2018, he spent one season with the Saint James Saints in Maryland. Standing at 6β3, 300lbs, the student body president of Saint John High School is interested in taking history. He plans on going into education.
Ben Edison
For Ben Edison, there were plenty of reasons to commit to the X-Men.
βWhen I took my official visit, everyone on campus welcomed me with open arms, and I felt like I was at home,β he said. βI believe they have a young team that will be in great shape in the next two to three years, and I canβt wait to contribute to that winning culture.β
Edison, who will be taking human kinetics, added that, βThe coaching staff is amazing. Jon Svec, the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach, really helped me make my decision by showing me around campus during my time there. Iβm extremely excited to get to work with all the great coaches at StFX.β
A resident of Calgary, Alberta, Edison is originally from St. Johnβs, Newfoundland. In grade 10 he moved out west and began his football career. He has played for the Ernest Manning Griffins (CHSAA) and the Calgary Wildcats. Last November 2019, he helped the Griffins win the Division 1B finals. He was named as the teamβs βmost outstanding defensive player of the year.β
Edison, who is 6β1, 220lbs, is a multisport athlete. He said he is also a leader in everything he does. He is a former competitive swimmer, and he also played water polo. He was a captain on the Griffins this past season. At the same time, he captained his hockey team and the Griffins ruby team. He was named as the Griffinsβ rugby βplayer of the yearβ in grade 10 and 11.
