CFC100 Jared Wayne announces Power 5 commitment

CFC100 Offer Stories

Jared Wayne put an end to the party, and when the music stopped –Ā  only the Pitt Panthers were left remaining. Wayne became a popular prospect in the spring garnering offers from some quality schools, but no doubt the Panthers stood out as the heavy hitters among South Florida, Bowling Green and Old Dominion. He’s actually the first Canadian prospect heading to Pitt since we started tracking the numbers back in 2010, and is the third ACC commit this cycle with Syracuse grabbing CFC60s Geof Cantin and Matthew Bergeron. The Big Ten leads the way as the most popular Power 5 conference, but every year the ACC inches a little bit closer, and 2018 could be their biggest to date for Canadian connections.

Pitt is entering their sixth season in the ACC under the guidance of Head Coach Pat Narduzzi, and are looking to go bowling again after seeing their nine year streak snapped with a disappointing 5-7 finish in 2017. Wayne will be finishing his high school career at Clearwater Academy in Flordia, but earned his striped while playing for CFC10 Trinity College in Port Hope.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
