CFC100 Christian Veilleux goes one-on-one with Coach Harbaugh

After receiving an offer from Michigan back in June, CFC100 Christian Veilleux received another invite to the Big House to watch Michigan take down Penn State over the weekend. The Class of 2021 quarterback already has four DI offers on the big board, but it’s going to be hard for other programs to compete with the pageantry surrounding Ann Arbor,

“The atmosphere of being around almost 112,000 people was crazy. Never been in a stadium that loud.”

CFC100/CFC60 Recruiting Stories

It’s been a whirlwind type of year for Christian Veilleux, who took the early route to Canisius (N.Y) to compete on the American high school circuit with four DI offers in hand. Veilleux was busy during the spring/summer months attending camps down south, and was rewarded with offers from Michigan, Rutgers and Temple, plus he already had one tucked away from Buffalo. While any offer means a lot – especially for a Canadian quarterback – clearly there’s one name that jumps out from the list, and it helps with the type of season Michigan is having in the Big Ten.

It just so happens that the Wolverines rise to national prominence in the rankings coincided with their recruitment of Veilleux, leading to an even crazier Big House than one would expect during their visit,

“The atmosphere of being around almost 112,000 people was crazy. Never been in a stadium that loud.”

He also got the chance to go face to face with Head Coach, Jim Harbaugh, who’s personality may be the only thing louder than their fans in Michigan,

“Had a great time talking with Coach Pep (QB coach) and also coach Harbaugh one-on-one. They really showed lots of love and made me feel welcomed at any time. It was good to finally sit down with them and have a good conversation about everything.”

Veilleux is still a long way out from signing, but it’s interesting to see the amount of love Michigan is showing already, and it should intrigue other programs in the area who’re looking for their next project under centre. Veilleux has thrown for 1563 yards and 17 touchdowns while leading Canisius to a 5-4 overall record this season.
