This past weekend had enough football to satisfy any fan of the game. High school playoffs, CEGEP playoffs, U Sport playoffs, CFL playoffs, and NCAA & NFL regular season games. The following are some random thoughts provoked by an overdose of my favourite game.
What a mess created by the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) and U Sport, cancelling and then rescheduling the Loney Bowl. Had the appropriate decision been taken 2 weeks ago – and had St. Mary’s University (SMU) had used an ineligible player(s), they would have been eliminated from the playoffs; if he/they were eligible, the playoffs would have been played in the typical way. By delaying the decision an enormous problem, that could have been avoided, has been created.
