Who were the best offensive players in day 1 action at Football Canada Cup?

Many great offensive performances were put in on day 1 of the Football Canada Cup. The following is a list high lighting those players.

QUARTERBACKS
1. Jesse Mills – Nova Scotia – Jesse threw for over 300 yards in game one but the most impressive part of that day was the last minute drive for a touchdown. His physical strength enabled him to over come the wet conditions. 14-24-0 ints 303 yards 2 touchdowns 1 sack

2. Carson Williams – BC – The biggest coaching adjustment the BC coaches made in their 27 point come back versus East Ontario was putting the right guy behind the center. In approximately a half of play Williams lit up the East Ontario secondary. Carson Williams 14-17-0 ints 204 yards 3 touchdowns 0 sacks

RUNNING BACKS
1. Tyler Varga – West Ontario – Varga had some of the best 8 yard runs you are ever going to see. With very little help from his oline and no help from the passing game, Varga was a one man show versus a talented front seven from Quebec. 18 rushed 126 yards

2. Akeel Lynch (PHOTO)– East Ontario – Lynch ran early and often against BC. An injury slowed him down in the second half and we will see if he is able to return to form in the second game. 13 rushes 106 yards 1 touchdown

3. Stephen Spagnuolo – BC – It took a little while but Spagnuolo got rolling against East Ontario ripping off some impressive runs. His low center of gravity and his forward lean and high knees make it hard for opponents to take him down. 12 rushes 83 yards

RECEIVERS
1. Donald Tabor – Nova Scotia – Best hands in the tournament. Knows how to use that big body to shield his opponents from the ball. 6 catches 149 yards

2. Eli-ChristopherBouka – Quebec – Most explosive receiver in the tournament. Made the most acrobatic catches yet. 7 catches 93 yards 1 touchdown

3. Marshall Cook – British Columbia – Was a big reason for the BC comeback. Great run after catch ability. 8 catches 128 yards 1 touchdown
