Vanier Cup dreams

CFC TOP 100 pivot joins Vanier Cup champions’ 2014 recruiting class.

The 2013 Vanier Cup Champions have nabbed a CFC TOP 100 pivot.

Recently, Hugo Richard committed to Laval Rouge et Or for the 2014 RSEQ season.  A huge reason the team succeeded in landing him was Offensive Coordinator Justin Ethier. The quarterback felt the opportunity to work with one of the best was too good of an offer to pass up.

“Justin Ethier was a big part of my decision,” commented Richard of his decision.  “His calibre and experience is very attractive for a player in my position.”

“The offensive line at Laval is a force in itself, and has been for a few years.  Their capability to get the best offensive lines is very good and for a quarterback, that is very important.”

The 6’2, 210 pound quarterback from St. Bruno, Quebec recently completed his CEGEP career with Division 1 team, Vanier Cheetahs. Moreover, he played high school football for RSEQ Juvenile 1 team College Notre-Dame Cactus.

“The team in general is very sharp, and the team spirit is very special,” added Richard.  “I really like the town too; a very uncrowded small city.”
