Looking towards the future

Ottawa wide receiver becomes fourth CFC TOP 100 player to join OUA team’s 2014 class

The Carleton Ravens have snagged their fourth CFC TOP 100 player in recent weeks.

Dimitri Vaillancourt is the latest recruit to commit the Ottawa, Ontario team.  The 5’11, 150 pound wide receiver felt the Ravens are the best place to continue his gridiron career at the next level.

“I made the decision to go to Carleton because it’s a new and up running program with a bright future,” explained Vaillancourt of his decision.  “I am thinking for my future and not the present and in two or three years, Carleton with be competing against some of the top schools such as Western or Queens.”

“Carleton football is also brand new so brining my football experience there can only be an asset to the team. Carleton is a great school and has a great business program at Sprott which is exactly what I was looking for. I am also an Ottawa native and living at home benefits me in many ways.”

The Ottawa, Ontario native joins the Ravens after playing high school football for St. Francis Xavier Coyotes of the National Capital Secondary School Athletics Association (NCSSAA).  Moreover, he has suited up previously for the Ottawa Stampeders and the Gloucester South Raiders of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

Vaillancourt is the recent CFC TOP 100 player to commit to the Ravens – Ontario standouts Stephane Tanguay, Trevelle Wisdom and Raishaun Provo are the others.

Ravens Head Coach Steve Sumarah is thrilled to have landed another CFC TOP 100 player to the team’s 2014 class.

“Dimitri is one of the most dynamic players in the 2014 class,” commented Sumarah.   “He is an incredible returner and receiver who will make an immediate pact on the CIS.”
