The Raiders simply dominated the Rams and came away with a 40-8 one-sided victory on Saturday in Surrey for their third consecutive win.

“We played really well,” said head coach Matthew Blokker. “Our defense played extremely well and our defensive back were just great. We’re very, very happy with the effort and getting the win.”

The defending champions improved to 5-1 and continue to share top spot in the BC Football Conference with the Okanagan Sun.

In the first quarter, the game appeared to be heading to a close battle as the Raiders were held to just a field goal.

But it was only a matter of time before the Raiders would finally break apart the Rams defense and close three touchdowns and a safety to end the first half with a comfortable 26-3 lead.
The Raiders defense also played a solid game and denied the Rams very little scoring opportunities. They pressured Rams’ starting quarterback Nathaniel White all day long, who went a paltry 3-for-15 and tossed two interceptions.

The Raiders are gunning for their third consecutive Canadian Junior Football League national title, which will be their fourth in six years.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
