UTTLEY: Why do Canadian players continue to leave for American Prep schools; is this really the better choice?

Every year since I can remember, I have seen high school football players leave their school and move to the USA and attend either a private or a prep school.

Some of these players go because their family can afford it and education has been made the priority. Others go because they have been awarded scholarships and it’s a better academic opportunity that might be presented to them here in Canada.

But the third group of these players pays their own way thinking that attending an American high school and/or prep school is going to get them a scholarship to an NCAA school.

Parents and players need to be careful when pursuing this option.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
