uOttawa covered all bases for former Kamloops Bronco OL

The Gee-Gees add experience to their team with an addition from the CJFL.

Tanner Bishop, an offensive lineman from Clarence Fulton Secondary School, has been hiding out in the CJFL for a while now, but when the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees came looking for him, he jumped at the chance to play at the U Sports level.

“Everything about the school and the team really brought me in,” Bishop said. “Everyone was awesome and I think I fit in great with the offense.”

Standing at 6’3, 318lbs, the guard is bubbling at the chance to further his craft with the Gee-Gees coaches. “The coaching staff is incredible. They all know their stuff and I’m super excited to learn from them,” he said.

The potential criminology student from Vernon, BC, started his eight-year career in high school with the Clarence Fulton Maroons (BC High School Football AA). He then played a year of city football with the Vernon Magnums in the Vancouver Mainland Football League before joining the Kamloops Broncos (CJFL) for three years. He was a two-time recipient of the coaches’ choice award in 2009 and 2010. In 2012, he was a top lineman.
