Unstoppable rushing beast

CFCā€™s Top 100 Maleek Irons is unstoppable.

Yesterday night, Irons reached another milestone in his career.

The 6ā€™0, 205 pound running back from Abbotsford, BC had passed the 400 rushing yards mark for the second time in his career as CFC TOP 50 ranked WJ Mouat Hawks crushed the Robert Bateman Timberwolves 52-10 in exhibition play last night in Surrey British Columbia.

In the 2012 season with the Hawks, he dominated on the field as he amassed 3200 rushing yards, which was an average of 10.5 yards per carry and scored an astounding 45 touchdowns. He set the single season provincial rushing record that year. Ā For his efforts on the field, Irons was named BCHSFAā€™s Outstanding Offensive Player.

Additionally to playing for the Hawks, Irons has suited up for the Westside Warriors, Mission Niners and Chilliwack Giants.Ā  Among the honours he has received has been Team MVP in the Starbowl, Top Running Back Award at FBU Camp, Team MVP at his high school (2011), Team MVP (2012).Ā  In grade 10, he was named Athlete of the Year and was inducted into the Abbotsford Sports Wall of Fame at the Legacy Sports Centre.

Irons and the Hawks will begin the British Columbia High School Football season on Saturday September 21st when the team hosts Mount Boucherie Bears.
