University of Saskatchewan Huskies pack grows by 4

Saskatchewan adds three local commits and one Alberta commit to their Class of 2018.

Bryce Zerr, an offensive lineman from Holy Rosary High School, knows that he will be in good hands with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies coaches in this season and beyond.

Running back Keegan White from St. Joseph High School and defensive lineman Austin Haas and receiver Hayden Sabadash from Tommy Douglas High School will also be joining the Huskies.

Bryce Zerr

During his recruitment, Bryce Zerr had the opportunity to attend two of the Huskies’ summer camps. During camp, he was taught by Coach Lane. “His knowledge and passion shown in that small amount of time showed me what kind of coach he’ll be,” Zerr said. “The rest of the coaching staff I didn’t get to know too well. I was told that almost all the coaches have had experience in the CFL and that intrigued me since each coach will have lots of experience.”

Along with the coaches, Zerr was impressed with the campus itself. He said that the campus, field and residence were all excellent. “The closeness of the residence was appealing to me since it would be very convenient to get from practice to home,” he added.

This September, Zerr will be taking a general arts and science program. While he is unsure where he will go from there, he is interested in going into law.

Zerr is a towering 6’7, 280lbs right tackle from Lloydminster, Alberta. He suited up for the Holy Rosary High School Raiders (Wheatland Football League) and the Lloydminster Red Dogs (Capital District Minor Football Association) for three years respectively. He also spent two years on the LMFA Mustangs (bantam) and one on the LMFA Steelers (peewee). He represented Team District 7 at the Alberta Summer Games as well. He is a three-time WFL champion with the Raiders from 2015 to 2017. His team also placed second in the Tier 3 provincial finals in each of those three seasons. Last season, he was a WHL MVP.

Austin Haas

Austin Haas brings size to the defensive line with his hulking 6’5, 290lbs structure. He was apart of the Tommy Douglas Collegiate Tigers (SSSAD) in his hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Hayden Sabadash

Hayden Sabadash is also from the Tommy Douglas Tigers. He stands at 6’0, 180lbs and plays as a receiver.

Keagan White

Keagan White is a 6’1, 185lbs running back from the St. Joseph High School Guardians (Saskatoon Secondary Schools Athletic Directorate). His hometown is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He is considered a dynamic player.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
