U Sports recruiting analysis (AUS): Bishop’s looking to change culture, results will come in time

Over the next several weeks, we will be reviewing the U Sports team’s 2017 class in order to better assess all the recruiting madness.

The Gaiters have moved to the Atlantic University Conference (AUS), brought in a new head coach, Cherif Nicolas, and overhauled the coaching staff. What does all this mean, moving forward, for the program and it’s ability to recruit?

I am sure that they got a lot of push back, and that many of the teams in the RSEQ would have used it as a negative recruiting tool against Bishop’s. Now that the Gaiters have weathered this initial storm, they can get down to business and begin to reach out to many recruits in Quebec that will explore the Bishop’s option once they see how the RSEQ unfolds with a five team format.
