Tyrell Sutton Finds His Feet After Psychic Intervention

Tyrell Sutton was unemployed in the summer and has gone through three teams in just one year. After he decided to take the unconventional route of visiting a psychic, she told him to accept whatever opportunity came up next without questioning it. So, on September 9, the running back agreed to terms with Hamilton where he was made a part of the practice squad. He had a similar experience in July after being released by Toronto- he signed with the Argonauts as a free agent in February. That was after he was traded to British Columbia from the Montreal Alouettes in September last year.

Now, according to both analysts and sportsbooks on the likes of casinoseal.com, Sutton is on a team with a real shot at the Grey Cup. In three games with Hamilton, he’s rushed for 198 yards on 32 carries. He was also named among the CF’s top performers of the week after a recent 13-carry, 5-yard performance, along with four catches for 64 yards, against Ottawa. After he played just one playoff game with the BC Lions in November- Sutton had failed to make the playoffs four straight years with Montreal- he’s now on a team with a real chance of going all the way.

Return to Montreal

On Saturday, October 26, Sutton returned to Molson Stadium when the 32-year-old back, who was with the Alouettes for six seasons, came face-to-face with his old team since they traded him. Sutton and the Ticats beat the Alouettes old 38-26. While Sutton didn’t personally inflict much of the damage (five yards on three carries), QB Dale Evans made up for it with 29 of 26 completion, 379 yards, and four touchdowns.

Sutton was in a French class in September when his phone kept running and he was called to meet with then Montreal general manager Kavis Reed. Sutton had been turning down trade requests up until this point, maintaining his loyalty to the team and re-signing for three more seasons. However, just as his talent allowed the Alouettes to part ways with Brandon Whitaker years earlier, a player by the name of William Stanback made Sutton expendable.

Opportunity knocks

While Sutton would have been happy to sign a new contract with the Lions, he was never given the opportunity. He instead signed with Toronto, but was unable to make the team and was on injured reserve for four weeks before he was waved. He didn’t believe that he would get another opportunity, but when Sean Thomas-Erlington injured his knee against Montreal, the Tiger-Cats called upon Sutton to strengthen their backfield. Now, in part due to Sutton’s performances, the team is tipped to reach this year’s Grey Cup, according to sports betting firms on casinoseal.com.

With his 33rd birthday just around the corner, and only a one-year deal to his name, Sutton is unsure as to where his future lies. The Ticats, who will also host the Grey Cup in 2021, have won the division and will be at home for the November 17 division final against either Edmonton or Montreal. So there’s that!
