Storylines: The defending Grey Cup champions return with their core intact but QB Anthony Calvillo, WR Ben Cahoon and OL Brian Chiu are getting near the end of their run … The off-season has been rife with speculation that head coach Marc Trestman and general manager Jim Popp could bolt for jobs in the NFL, but both head into training camp still employed by the Alouettes … One of the most interesting camp battles will be at backup quarterback, where incumbent Adrian McPherson will face challenges from Chris Leak and Cody Pickett.

HAMILTON TIGER-CATS

Last season: 9-9, lost East Division semifinal.

Among the possible replacements is rookie Shomari Williams, the first overall pick in the 2010 Canadian draft … QB Darian Durant heads into camp without an experienced backup behind him … Luca Congi will handle the placekicking duties, but Ryan Elaschuk and Louie Sakoda will audition to replace Jamie Boreham as the punter.

CALGARY STAMPEDERS

Last season: 10-7-1, lost West Division final.

Camp opens: Sunday, McMahon Stadium, Calgary

Storylines: There could be some interesting battles for jobs along the offensive line with Jeff Pilon and Dimitri Tsoumpas both departed. Among those in contention for starting spots are Matt Sheridan and Dan Comiskey, who were both out of football last season … Rookie Rob Maver will battle Warren Kean for the kicking duties … With Jermaine Copeland gone, Nik Lewis takes over as the team’s No. 1 receiver, but a healthy Ken-Yon Rambo could challenge him.

EDMONTON ESKIMOS

Last season: 9-9, lost West Division semifinal.

Camp opens: Sunday, Clarke Field, Edmonton.

Storylines: After allowing the most passing yards in the league last season, the Eskimos have revamped their secondary … The Eskimos have depth at slotback with Fred Stamps, Kamau Peterson, Jamaica Rector and Andre Talbot, but are thin at wideout … For the second year in a row, the Eskimos dipped into the free-agent market to sign an experienced linebacker. Last year it was Maurice Lloyd, this year it’s Javy Glatt … Arkee Whitlock started last season on the reserve list, but heads into camp as the undisputed No. 1 running back this year after the release of Jesse Lumsden.

B.C. LIONS

Last season: 8-10, lost East Division final (via crossover).

Camp opens: Sunday, Hillside Stadium, Kamloops, B.C.
