Thunder Storm

OVFL: The junior varsity Toronto Thunder dominated the start-up North Bay Bulldogs 64-0 last Saturday to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Coach Bubba led his junior varsity Thunder into North bay last weekend to face a struggling North Bay Bulldogs team that has yet to score a point this season. As expected the Thunder rolled to a 64-0 win, dominating in all three phases of the game.

On defense Amir Zeisler recorded nine tackles (7 solo, 2 assisted), two fumbles, and a defensive touchdown, while lineman Nathaniel Anderson had four tackles (2 solo, 2 assisted), two quarterback sacks, and an interception to lead the Thunder defense.

Offensively quarterback Simon Ip completed 11 of 14 passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns, running back Steve Mpenga had ten carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns, and slot back Jalen Martin had six receptions for 85 yards and four touchdowns.

Despite the disappointing performance form a young North Bay team coach Bubba offered high praise for the organization and its players saying, ”Ā hats off to the North Bay players, they played their hearts out from start to finish, no matter what the score was. They are a very young team and I really like what Coach Mathon is doing over there, heā€™s got a great vision, so look out for those guys in a few years.”

The Thunder will have a week off to prepare for a tough Myers Riders team in two weeks time.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
