Three CFC60s, one other find home with Carabins

Montréal adds three local commits and one Québec commit to their 2020 class.

CFC60 Guillaume Ranger, a receiver from Collège André-Grasset, and Philippe Boyer, a kicker from Collège Lionel-Groulx, have found their place with the University of Montréal Carabins.

CFC60 linemen Vasriky Ayman Cissé from Cégep Garneau and Alexis Lévesque-Gallant from Cégep du Vieux Montréal will also be joining the Carabins.

CFC60 Guillaume Ranger

Guillaume Ranger will be a short distance away from his home of Laval, Québec. It’s a reason why he chose Montréal. “I have lots of friends there, (and it’s a) great football program,” he added. “Great coaching staff, lots of coaches I know already.”

Interested in communications, Ranger has been playing football for eight years. In high school he was a member of Les Loups de Curé-Antoine Labelle (RSEQ). He then joined Les Phénix d’André-Grasset (RSEQ Division 1). Standing at 5’10, 175lbs, he was an all-star and a return specialist.

Philippe Boyer

For Philippe Boyer, Montréal offered him everything he hoped for.

“I choose this school for the quality of the school and the football program. Special teams coordinator Byron Archambault really showed me everything, and I felt like I was at home at my first visit,” Boyer said.

“The coaching staff made me feel at home instantly,” he added. “Danny Macioca and Bryon Archambault were giving me all the information, and they said that I could have an impact quickly on the team. I feel like they are going to help me reach my goal, which is NFL or CFL.”

Hailing from Laval, Boyer said that he also chose Montréal because it is close to his house, and he wanted to be near his family.

The 6’2, 205lbs kicker and punter spent five years with Les Maraudeurs du Collège Laval (RSEQ) in high school and three with Les Nordiques de Lionel Groulx (RSEQ Division 1). He won three Bol d’Ors with Les Maraudeurs. In 2019, he was an all-star and an MVP on the special teams. He is interested in studying physical education.
