Football Alberta has announced four Talent ID Camps that will take place this spring to begin the process of identifying candidates who will make up their Team Alberta Under 18 team that will compete on home soil from July 9-15 in the Football Canada Cup in Lethbridge this summer.
Traditionally, these camps have been centered in Edmonton or Calgary but this year in recognition of the increased participation and quality of player outside the major centers regional Talent ID Camps will also be held in Lethbridge and Grande Prairie as well. Each camp will be a one day, full contact evaluation run by the current Team Alberta staff with the assistance of local high school coaches. Interested players must contact the head coach at their high school to obtain registration information. The schedule will be as follows:
Saturday, April 9[SUP]th[/SUP] ā Lethbridge (University of Lethbridge Community Stadium)
Sunday, April 10[SUP]th[/SUP] ā Calgary (McMahon Stadium)
Saturday, April 16[SUP]th[/SUP] ā Grande Prairie (Grande Prairie Composite High School)
Sunday, April 17[SUP]th[/SUP] ā Edmonton (Foote Field)
From there around 120 players will be invited to attend the Team Alberta Selection Camp held over the May Long Weekend at Catholic Central High School West Campus in Lethbridge to select the final 40 players who will represent Alberta this summer.
