Stingers welcome Nordique commit

Concordia brings in a local commit to their 2017 class.

When all the pieces fit into place, why not roll with it? That’s what Mounir Kaddouri, an offensive lineman from Collège Lionel Groulx, is doing after committing to the Concordia Stingers.

Kaddouri, who is from Laval, Québec, was drawn to Concordia University because of what it had to offer him. “I wanted to study in English and stay close to my hometown and I like the campus and the programs of the school,” he said of the Montréal-based university.

The 6’1, 325lbs lineman also holds admiration for the Stingers’ coaches. “I really liked the coaching staff. They have a lot of experience and I believe they can help me reach my goals during the course of the next five years,” he said. He added that he is interested in either political science or economics.

Kaddouri spent his three-year cégep career with Les Nordiques du Collège Lionel Groulx (RSEQ Division 2) where he won a Bol D’Or. Prior to that, he spent five years with Les Empereurs du Collège Letendre (RSEQ) and two years with Les Cowboys de Laval (house league).

When you play with the same group of guys, you become a family. Kaddouri wanted to thank those in his life. He said, “Special thanks to my family, Émile Taillefer, Alexandre Landreville.”
