Staying home played into Laval commit’s decision

Laval brings in another local commit to their Class of 2017.

Mathieu Savard, a defensive back from CĆ©gep Garneau, will be sticking to familiar surroundings after signing with the University of Laval Rouge et Or.

For Savard, it all boiled down to one thing, should he stay in his hometown or venture out to a new location? He told Le Journal de QuƩbec that while he was interested in studying in English at McGill, he decided to stay in his home of QuƩbec City to stay with his family.

Standing at 6ā€™0, 200lbs, he spent two years with Les Ɖlans de CĆ©gep Garneau (RSEQ Division 1). In high school, he played with les Condors de Saint-Jean-Eudes. He will be taking Kinesiology at Laval.
