Statement by U of T Head Coach Greg Delaval regarding Job Offer

The Montreal Alouettes contacted me based on a recommendation from Craig Dickenson, a friend of mine and former special teams coordinator with the Calgary Stampeders. Craig recommended me for the Stampeders job and the Alouettes position after he left.

I let the Alouettes know that I was honored to have been contacted and considered and thanked them for their interest in me.

I thought about all of the positive experiences I’ve had since becoming the head coach at U of T and all of the dedicated players and coaches that I work with. I’ve had incredible support from the administration and alumni and I realized that I still have much to do at U of T.

I am very happy in my position as the head coach of the Varsity Blues and I’m dedicated and excited at the opportunity to move forward with this program. As a group, we look forward to building on the momentum we established over the past two seasons.

Sincerely,

Greg DeLaval
