Stampeding to Guelph

Burlington standout recently commits to OUA team.

The Guelph Gryphons took the first steps when it came to recruiting Ben Leavitt.

Consequently, the 6’0, 205 pound running back/linebacker from Burlington, Ontario was so impressed with the courting and directness of the OUA team that he recently signed with them.

β€œGuelph was the first school to show interest in me in grade 11 and a relationship was created and maintained over the past year,” recalled Leavitt of his recruitment process with the Gryphons.Β  β€œThe school was a good fit as well as they had multiple programs that really fit my academic wishes.”

β€œThe campus life and football facilities were also impressive and very welcoming. The coaching staff didn’t hide anything from me and were very upfront and honest with all aspects of my future with a good balance of expectations at the same time providing inspiration and goals that with hard work are achievable.”

Leavitt comes to the Gryphons after playing for the TA Blakelock Tigers of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA).Β  Additionally, he previously suited up for the Burlington Stampeders of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).
