St.FX commitment to family draws in commit

Joe Trudeau, a defensive back from Superior Heights Collegiate and Vocational School, knows one thing is certain, when he joins the St. Francis Xavier X-Men, he will never be alone.

ā€œI chose to commit because they preach how the team is like a family above everything else,ā€ he said. ā€œThe coaching staff seem like a good group of honest and hardworking men and they remind me a lot of my current coaches here in town.ā€

He added that he also chose St. FX for its prestigious reputation.

Trudeau has been playing football in his hometown of Sault Ste. Marine, Ontario, for five years. The 5ā€™10, 175lbs defensive back and corner spent his high school days with the Superior Heights Steelhawks (Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics). He played summer ball with the Sault Sabercats (OVFL).

In 2015, he was the Steelhawksā€™ junior varsity offensive player of the year and the JV Sabercatsā€™ MVP. Last season, he and the Steelhawks captured the NOSSA championships and were runner ups in the OFSAA Northern Bowl. This season, he was an all-star.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
