SMU community, coaches, attract 3 teammates

Huskies add three out-of-province commits to their 2019 class.

Alex DesOrmeaux, an offensive lineman from Huron Heights Secondary School, will be getting the full east coast experience after committing to the Saint Maryā€™s Huskies.

Running back Noah Jacka and defensive tackle Ali Azraq from Huron Heights Secondary School will also be joining the Huskies.

The east coast has captured Alex DesOrmeauxā€™s attention and it doesnā€™t want to give it back. ā€œI chose to commit to Saint Maryā€™s because I love the community and environment out east and I really like the schoolā€™s appeal,ā€ he said. ā€œThe coaches are really good guys and have lots of experience, so they know what they are doing.ā€

DesOrmeaux spent the last four years with the Huron Heights Warriors (YRAA). In 2017 he helped his team to a OFSAA Simcoe Bowl championship. Hailing from Newmarket, Ontario, he is 6ā€™1, 275lbs.

Noah Jacka

Noah Jacka played as both a running back and linebacker with Warriors. He also calls Newmarket, Ontario, home. In the 2016 OFSAA Simcoe Bowl, Jacka scored a touchdown in the Warriorsā€™ loss to St. Ignatius.

Ali Azraq

Ali Azraq, who is also from Newmarket, played on both a defensive tackle and guard for the Warriors.
