Reilly, Masoli and Williams named Shaw CFL Top Performers

TORONTO (July 4th, 2018) – Mike Reilly, Jeremiah Masoli and D’Haquille “Duke” Williams were named the Shaw CFL Top Performers of the Month for June of the CFL’s 2018 season.

Performer of the Month for June includes all appearances from Week 1 to Week 3.

The three players were chosen by a panel of judges who independently send their selections to the CFL head office. The panel includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

QB | MIKE REILLY | EDMONTON ESKIMOS

Mike Reilly steered Edmonton to a 2-1 record in June, throwing for an average of 9.5 yards per throw. A statement comeback-win against the BC Lions in Week 3 demonstrated his calm under pressure and ability to put together drives as he threw for three touchdowns and ran one in himself.

In Week 1 he threw for 408 yards to propel Edmonton ahead of Winnipeg in the season-opener.

Reilly is currently second overall in passing yards with 1,020, and tied for first with six touchdowns. He sits second among qualified quarterbacks with a 69.8 completion percentage, and second in pass efficiency with a rating of 103.5.

The CFL’s reigning Most Outstanding Player put together 10 touchdown drives in June and is currently on pace for his third consecutive season throwing over 5,500 yards.

Reilly was named a Shaw Top Performer of the Week in Week 1. He was one of the top three Shaw Top Performers of the 2017 season and donated $15,000 through Shaw to Adarius 4 Autism.

QB | JEREMIAH MASOLI | HAMILTON TIGER-CATS

After a stellar slate of June games, Jeremiah Masoli is currently the CFL’s passing leader with 1,045 yards. He also leads the league with a completion percentage of 70.8%, and is first overall among qualified quarterbacks with an average 9.9 yards per pass.

Masoli threw for four touchdowns in June, orchestrating nine touchdown drives in total. His average pass depth is second overall at 13 yards, and he possesses a pass efficiency rating of 102.9.

He has passed for 300+ yards in eight consecutive games, putting him one game short of the CFL record of nine. Since appointing Masoli as the starter in 2017, the Tiger-Cats are 8-5.

Masoli was named a Shaw Top Performer in Weeks 2 and 3.

WR | D’HAQUILLE WILLIAMS | EDMONTON ESKIMOS

D’Haquille “Duke” Williams made 14 catches in June, earning two touchdowns to help Edmonton to a 2-1 record.

He leads the league in receiving yards with 308 and in average yards per catch with 22. He also sits first overall in catches of 30+ yards, having made three in June.

Williams had standout games in Weeks 2 and 3; on June 22nd against Hamilton he recorded 105 receiving yards and a touchdown on four receptions, which included a career-high 88-yard reception for a touchdown.

The former Auburn Tiger was a major part of Edmonton’s Week 3 comeback victory over the BC Lions, reeling in 129 receiving yards on six receptions. He snagged a 64-yard Mike Reilly pass in the third quarter for a touchdown, and caught two two-point convert passes in the contest.

This is Williams’ second year in the CFL. In 2017 he recorded 715 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 13 games for Edmonton.
