Saskatchewan recruit makes Carleton landing (VIDEO)

Saskatoon athlete joins OUA team’s 2016 class

The Carleton Ravens continue to make gains nationally in their current recruitment drive.

This past week, the Ravens announced the addition of Andrew Pocrnic to their football program. He will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

Pocrnic is a 5’10, 200 pound athlete from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Currently, he is completing his senior season with Marion Graham Falcons of the Saskatoon Secondary School Athletic Directorate (SSSAD).

Carleton Ravens Head Coach Steve Sumarah said that the team’s newest addition is a running back/fullback type “physical player”. The team were first introduced to Pocrnic this past summer and are thrilled to welcome the out of province recruit into the fold.

“Andrew came to our elite camp this summer and we loved his skills and attitude,” commented Sumarah.  “He is an exceptional student who plays the game hardnosed.”

“He can be a tailback, halfback or fullback in our system.  To be able to recruit a player out of Saskatoon is a big coup and something we are very proud of.  An injury has slowed down his season but he will be ready to go coming training camp.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
