Family affair

CFC Top 100 standout joins RSEQ team’s 2014 class.

Another day, another CFC TOP 100 player has committed to a CIS school.

This time, Mathieu Roy-FortinĀ  has joined the 2013 Vanier Cup champions Laval Rouge et Or for the 2014 RSEQ season.

Ultimately, proximity played a huge role in the 6ā€™5, 335 pound offensive linemanā€™s decision.

ā€œI decided to go to Laval, because I wanted to stay close to my family,ā€ explained Roy-Fortin of his decision.Ā  ā€œI have a younger sister and also a younger brother that I love and my parents have always been there to support my path in football since I started.ā€

ā€œI’m also really proud to wear the uniform of Laval. I’m from Quebec, you have the whole country behind you and it’s great to represent them on the field and make them proud.ā€

The Quebec offensive lineman comes to the Vanier Cup Champions after completing his CEGEP career with Division 2 team, Limoilou Titans. Previous to CEGEP, he suited up for his high school team, Roger Comtois Patriotes of RSEQ Juvenile Division 1.
