Recruiting Wrap-up: Nine ranked prospects cross the finish line

It has been a busy week for CFC-ranked commits with a total of nine of them heading to U Sports in the OUA, CanWest and RSEQ.

British Columbia

CFC100 Christian Carlon-Diaz

Christian Carlon-Diaz, a defensive back from Seaquam High School Seahawks (BCSSFA), calls Delta, BC his hometown. Standing at 5’10, 186lbs, he participated in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge.

Carleton

CFC100 Kasten Wayken

Quarterback Kasten Wayken from the Salisbury Composite High School Sabres (MEHSFL) will be moving to the nation’s capital from his hometown in Sherwood Park, Alberta. He stands at 6’3”, 195lbs.

CFC100 Jerel Brown

Jerel Brown, a wide receiver and slotback, is also from the Sabres. The product of Sherwood Park, Alberta, is a CFC Prospect Game participant. He is 6’2”, 175lbs.

Laval

CFC60 Samuel Quevillon

Samuel Quevillon is an offensive lineman with Les Spartiates du Cégep du Vieux-Montréal (RSEQ Division I). Standing at 6’4”, 315lbs, he is from Montréal, Québec.

CFC60 Cristophe Beaulieu

Linebacker Cristophe Beaulieu is a member of Les Géants de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (RSEQ Division I). Hailing from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, he is 6’2”, 170lbs.

Ottawa

CFC100 Tomas Kuhn

Tomas Kuhn, an offensive lineman from the Kelowna Secondary School Owls (BCSSFA), has a long trek from his hometown of Kelowna, BC to Ottawa, Ontario. The 6’3”, 290lbs lineman also participated in the FPC.

Western

CFC200 Evan Hillock

Evan Hillock, a quarterback from the St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School Knights (HWCAA), will be throwing for the Mustangs in the upcoming seasons, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“It was a good fit academically, and Western has a great winning tradition,” says Hillock. “The staff at Western is great, committed to winning, great people to learn from both on and off the field.”

Hillock, who is 6’3”, 180lbs, has been playing football for five years with both the Knights and the Burlington Stampeders (OFC). The product of Hamilton, Ontario is interested in taking criminology.

In 2018, Hillock was named as the Knights’ offensive MVP. He was also the Knights’ 7v7 MVP in 2019. He was the 2018 Hamilton all-star game offensive MVP and the 2019 all-star game MVP. He was a 2019 offensive MVP with the Stampeders. A five-time city champion with the Knights’, he helped the team win three OFSSA championships from 2017 to 2019.

CFC100 Matthew Ounsted

Offensive lineman Matthew Ounsted of the Mount Douglas Secondary School Rams (BCSSFA) calls Victoria, BC his home. Ounsted, who is 6’3”, 285lbs, played in both the FPC and the CFC Prospect Game.

CFC100 Sam La Roue

Another BC product, quarterback Sam La Roue is from the Earl Marriot Secondary Mariners (BCSSFA). La Roue is from South Surrey, BC and stands at 6’4”, 205lbs.
