Ravens address defense, offence, add CFC100 plus 2 more

Ravens add one local commit and two out-of-province commits to their 2019 class.

After signing with the Carleton Ravens, Michael Lightbody, a defensive lineman from Arnprior District High School, is exactly where he wants to be.

Running back CFC100 David Lezama from Harry Ainlay High School and wide receiver Jack Halvorson from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute will also be joining the Ravens.

Michael Lightbody

Michael Lightbody won’t be too far away from his family after signing with the Ravens. A resident of Arnprior, Ontario, he said, “I liked that they were close to home for me. They have great facilities and a nice campus. The players I met there were all nice and they have great academic support.”

Lightbody, who is interested in sociology, added that, “The coaches all seemed like great guys. I’m excited to be coached by them for the next four to five years.”

The 6’3″, 340lbs defensive tackle has seen his fair share of teams. He played with the Ottawa Myers Riders (NCAFA/OPFL) for three years. He spent another six with the West Carleton Wolverines (NCAFA) and four with the Arnprior High School Rapids (RCHSFL). He won lineman of the year four times with Arnprior, three with West Carleton and one with the Riders. When he isn’t playing football, he can be found on the basketball court, working out or focusing on his studies.

CFC100 David Lezama

David Lezama, who is 5’9″, 195lbs, is from Edmonton, Alberta, where he played high school ball with the Harry Ainlay Titans (MEHSFL). He has also played for the Edmonton Chargers (CDMFA) and participated in the Alberta Summer Games (Zone 6).

Jack Halvorson

Jack Halvorson played with the Lethbridge CI Rams (SAHSFL) in his hometown of Lethbridge, Alberta. He then joined the Calgary Colts (CJFL) in 2017. He stands at 6’1″, 195lbs.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
