Overall, there were several factors why the defensive standout opted for the Gaels.

“I committed to Queen’s because they are a top of the line football program, they have alot of financial services availble for the student athlete, they have a top of the line workout facility and a brand new stadium, the coaching staff is very experienced and more specifically, the Defensive Coordinator (Greg Marshall) spent a numerous amount of years in the CFL specializing in the defensive line,” explained Zarubiak.  “Also when i visited queens along with talking with the coaches over the past couple of months, I really felt like these coaches take care of their team.”

“They also weren’t just any kind of coaching staff that just blows up your confidence and treats you like the golden child, they sit down and be real with you which I liked because you build a good connection that way. Another reason why I choose Queen’s was because they are one of the most highly respected academic schools in Canada. At the end of the day if football was no longer present in my life, I could honestly say that I would finish my degree at Queen’s and walk out of there with a Grade A education.”
