Throughout his career, Alex Lavric has been a dedicated quarterback.

“I am a student of the game and like nothing better than learning as much as I can about football,” elaborated the 6’3, 205 pound pivot.

He credits baseball for inspiring a passion for the quarterback position.

“I play quarterback because I was a pitcher for many years and it felt natural to throw the ball on the field,” explained Lavric.

During his time with both the Lorne Park Spartans of the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) and Mississauga Warriors of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL), Lavric has thrived under the pressure of the responsibilities that come with leading an offensive unit.

“I love the challenge of a leadership role and playing one of the most demanding positions in sports,” added the Ontario pivot.

On the field, Lavric tries to emulate his playing style comparable to two NFL quarterbacks.

“I like the athleticism of Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers) but I model my game after someone more like Tom Brady (New England Patriots),” described Lavric.

This weekend, Lavric will be a participant at the QB Canada Clinic in Mississauga.  Overall, he is excited for the ability to gain more insight and knowledge that will help him excel even further in playing the quarterback position.

“I am looking forward to developing and improving my skills in all aspects of the position,” said the Spartans pivot.

Ultimately, Lavric hopes his participation at QB Canada will get him one step further in his quest to achieve his gridiron goal.

“I want to achieve the respect of my teammates and coaches as a leader on and off the field,” commented Lavric.
