Perry Marchese departs Gryphon football staff

University of Guelph assistant football coach and offensive coordinator Perry Marchese today confirmed his resignation from the program.
Marchese joined the Gryphons last June after serving as the elite program coordinator for the Ontario Football Alliance, and he is returning to that position.

ā€œWe are sorry to see coach Marchese leave and we wish him every success in the future,ā€ said Guelph director of athletics Tom Kendall.

ā€œPerry did a tremendous job taking our team to the playoffs this past season,ā€ said Guelph head football coach Stu Lang. ā€œHe also showed great leadership supporting our student athletes and improving our football program. We will miss him and wish him well in his career.ā€

The University of Guelph will begin a search immediately for a new offensive coordinator.

ā€œOur goals for the Gryphon football program remain the same. We will pursue excellence in all facets of the University experience for our student-athletes, both on the field and in the classroom,ā€ commented Lang.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
