Peewee Dolphins take 2 from Etobicoke (OVFL & OMFL)

The Ajax Pickering Dolphins traveled to Etobicoke’s Centennial Stadium to play the Etobicoke Eagles on Saturday June 5.Ā  The 11 am game saw the OMFL Peewees face off and the 8pm game saw the OVFL peewees play an exciting affair.

11am OMFL Dolphins vs. Eagles

The visiting Dolphins relied on some early QB Naked Bootlegs by #9 Darnel Jarrett and a key reverse by #17 Jaylen LaTouche to convert on some 4th downs.Ā  The games scoring was begun by Darnel on an exciting 72 yard scamper down the sidelines.Ā  LaTouche also scored in the first half making the halftime score 12 to 0.

The second half saw the visitors extend their lead with LaTouche and Jarrett adding one more score each and #20 Nathan Jones getting in on the touchdown scoring with one of his own.Ā  #34 Jordan Grimes added a 2 point convert.Ā  Final 37 to 0.

8pm OVFL Dolphins vs. Eagles

The Dolphins held on to win a well played game against the Eagles by a final score of 21 to 6.Ā  The Eagles started the game with a 10 minute drive that was only nullified when they fumbled the ball and the Dolphins recovered it on their own one yard line.Ā  Not long after, on the last play of the opening quarter, the Eagles #40, Tim Schjerning picked off a Dolphins pass.Ā  After stopping the Eagles offense the Dolphins offense went to work when #15, Justice Johnson scored their first touchdown putting the Dolphins up 7 to 0 after #47, Ramiro Castro kicked the one point convert.

The teams then traded a few turnovers (twice on one play).Ā  Not long after the Dolphins made a big pass play from #5 Raishaun Provo to receiver #87, Daniel Fraser for a nice 63 yard pass and run TD (Castro convert).Ā  With only 58 seconds left in the half the Dolphins pounced on a Eagle fumble on their own 26 yard line.Ā  Three plays later, after a nice catch and run by #34, Nathaniel Fermin, #5, Provo kept the ball on a QB sneak for the touchdown (Castro convert).Ā  Halftime score 21 to 0.

The second half saw the defenses tighten up and the Etobicoke Eagles score their only touchdown when #16, Michael Morgan, did a great job of setting up his blocks and defenders, scampering 17 yards to the outside for the touchdown.Ā  The 2 point attempt was no good.
