Kingston, ON – After a month on the road the senior Grenadiers return home with three big wins and a 6-1 record as they host the 1-6 Cornwall Wildcats this Saturday.

“A win this weekend will secure home-field advantage for the opening playoff match-up next weekend,” says senior varsity coach Mark Magee. “We don’t take anything for granted. We must continue to work hard to prepare for the playoffs.”

The junior Grenadiers host the Sault Ste. Marie SaberCats on Saturday. Both teams are 4-3 on the season and fighting for the final playoff spot.

The senior varsity team kicks off the day at noon with the junior game following at 3 p.m.

“This weekend we are also excited to begin a new tradition of celebrating our past Grenadiers,” says Alexandra Reyes-Walsh, executive director. “GMen alumni are encouraged to dust of their old jersey and take advantage of free admission to relive the dream and reconnect with former teammates and coaches at the homecoming game this Saturday.”

Regular gate admission is $5 for the day and children under 12 are always free. Home games are played at L.C.V.I., 153 Van Order Dr. and there is plenty of free parking.

Playoff dates will be announced online at www.GMen.ca. Or follow us on Twitter @GrensFootball for live updates during the games.

United we are #GrensNation.

About the Grenadiers:
The Limestone District Grenadiers Football Club offers AAA summer football at the junior and senior varsity level. Athletes (aged 15-19) travel to Kingston from Trenton to Brockville to play for the Grenadiers. Teams travel and host within the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL). In addition to learning, playing and enjoying football, emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, self-discipline, teamwork, academic achievement and community involvement. The Grenadiers are a not-for-profit association overseen by a volunteer board of directors. Volunteer coaches lead these teams, and a dedicated group of parent volunteers assist with game-day operations. Many graduating Grenadiers move on to play university football.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
