OVFL: Essex offensive line leads the way in victory over the lions (video)

The Essex Ravens used the teams strength to survive a 21 to 7 victory over the upstart Cambridge Lions. Behind the offensive line, which averages 283 pounds, the Ravens racked up over 340 yards rushing. The beneficiary of the blocking by the offensive line were running backs Cody McCann (175 yards, 18 carries, 1 touchdown) and Nicholas Vincent (125 yards, 24 carries, 2 touchdowns). Essex even went to a double tight formation on occasion (with Bulcke & Pavka at TE) that saw 7 offensive lineman on the field.

Three of the five lineman are off to CIS programs and 2 are returning high school players. Here is a list of the starting five:

LT – Dan Benson (Class 2012) – played up age group last season
LG – Jeremy Veres (Windsor commit)
C -Alex Bulcke (UBC Commit)
RG – Chris Slickboer
