Ottawa fullback joins OUA team’s 2016 class

Kingston is the next gridiron destination for Jake Hamm,

Recently, the 6’0, 225 pound fullback from Ottawa, Ontario signed with Queen’s Gaels. Ā Hamm will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

Overall,the reputation of both the academic and gridiron programs were the decisive factors in his decision.

“I chose Queen’s because of the great academic reputation it has as well as the amazing campus; Ā it just felt like home to me after visiting there multiple times,” elaborated Hamm. Ā “I also have a few former teammates and guys I train with who already play on the team so that weighed into my decision as well.”

“For the football side of things, Coach [Pat] Sheahan is one of the top coaches in the CIS and after doing multiple camps at Queen’s over the summer I know that I found the best possible coach for me. The football reputation at queens really speaks for itself, I know that when I go there it will be to compete for a national title.”

Hamm arrives to Queen’s after completing a stint with Alexandria, VIrginia high school team, Episcopal Maroon. Previous to the Maroon, the fullback suited up for the Ashbury Colts.
