Ottawa captivates Gee-Gees new commits

The Gee-Gees bring in an Ontario commit and an Alberta commit to their Class of 2017.

Ottawa is a city of opportunity and Adam Moffat, an offensive lineman from Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School and Parker White, a kicker from Ernest Manning High School, will have a chance to experience the sights and sounds it has to offer after signing with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees.

As the nation’s capital, Ottawa can have a particular appeal to incoming university students. “Ottawa is a very diverse city with multiple different opportunities after school for job,” Adam Moffat said. He added that he chose Ottawa because of its great Criminology program.

On the football side of things, the Gee-Gees quickly embraced Moffat. “The players and coaches were very welcoming. The coaches were very patient and helpful through the whole process and the players were awesome to hangout with,” Moffat said.

“Carl Tolmie and Nathan Taylor were always talking to me and making sure all my questions were answered and I was confident with my choice,” he added. “The university’s coaching staff is awesome.”

A towering 6’5, 275lbs, this offensive tackle grew up in Courtice, Ontario, which is east of Oshawa. Starting in 2011 with the Clarington Knights, he played with the team until 2014. He spent five years with the Holy Trinity Titans (Durham Regional High School Football). This past season, he won a senior leadership award with the Titans.

“I just want to thank my trainer Brad Chalmers,” Moffat said. “Brad has taught me how to play offensive line and has also been helping me put muscle on and get stronger for the on-field play.”

Parker White, a kicker and punter from Calgary, Alberta, will be bringing his talents to the Gee-Gees after his high school career with the Ernest Manning Griffins (Calgary High School Athletic Association). He is 6’2, 170lbs.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
