Orchard Park LB now a MTA Mountie

Mounties welcome their fourth Ontario commit to their class of 2017.

Kosta Petrovic, a linebacker from Orchard Park Secondary School, will be leaving the smoke stacks and high-rises of Hamilton behind and will exchange them for mash lands after singing with the Mount Allison Mounties.

With its rugged shores and smaller communities, the east coast can have a more close-knit feeling than the industrial-metropolitan landscape that is southern Ontario. “I chose Mount Allison because Head Coach Brady really made the program feel like a family,” Petrovic said. “He seems very motivating and knowledgeable. I feel as though I can learn a lot and better myself as a player playing for him.”

The future psychology student added that. “I also felt as though the program has a bright future and big things are coming for them that I want to be apart of.”

Petrovic is already familiar with being a member of budding teams. In his seven-year career, the 6’0, 215lbs Hamiltonian has played with the U18 edition of Team Ontario, the Hamilton Ironmen (OVFL) and the Orchard Park Patriots (Hamilton Wentworth District School Board.) This past season, he won a Division 2 championship with the Patriots following an undefeated season. He has also received awards three out of the four years with the Patriots.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
