Amherstburg slotback/receiver joins OUA team’s 2016 class.

Brandon Speller will be beginning his gridiron career in Hamilton next year.

The 6’2, 210 pound slotback/receiver from Amherstburg, Ontario has committed to McMaster Marauders.  Speller will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

Overall, there were multiple reasons why the Ontario offensive standout opted for the Hamilton, Ontario campus.

“The reasons why I chose McMaster is that I want to experience living outside of Windsor and see what the rest of Ontario has to offer,” commented Speller.  “Also, I feel like Hamilton was close enough to home but not too far away.”

“The university is a world class institution. You come into the working field with a McMaster degree and you catch a lot of eyes on an employer. The football program is probably the best in the country. The coaches and support staff treat you like family. I felt welcomed and accepted and. The environment is just something you want to be a part of. They want to make you a better person not just player. The offence is well established as one of the best if not the best in the country.”

Speller completed his career with EJ Lajeunesse Royals of the Windsor and Essex County Secondary School Athletic Association (WECSSAA).  On multiple occasions he has represented his province as a member of Team Ontario.
