Ryan McColeman has been playing football for two years across three seasons.

His journey on the gridiron began at Chippewa Secondary School as a running back.

He quickly picked up the rules of the game and instantly fell in love.

Ryan then joined the North Bay Bulldogs where he became a diverse player and raised his football knowledge.

For the following high school season he switched to West Ferris to play with the Trojans.

Ryan is using the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) as another learning experience, to improve his skills and take advice from some of the highest quality coaches in the province.

ā€œMy only goal for OPC is to finish with no regrets and know I performed to the best of my abilities,ā€ said Ryan.

In his offseason Ryan runs track and field to improve his speed and does competitive power lifting.

He has been power lifting since he was 12 and went to the 2015 Canadian championships, where he won a gold medal.

Moreover, his football idol is Walter Payton because of his hard work ethic and his incredible motivation.

He has incredible natural abilities and aptitude for football.

Aside from Payton, his idol is his father, who taught him everything he knows.

ā€œThe sport just connected with me, itā€™s a sport where every one of all shapes, sizes and abilities have a spot,ā€ commented Ryan.

ā€œI love the dedication and commitment that football brings,ā€ added the Trojan. ā€œItā€™s unlike any sport, this game is about 60% mental and about 40% physical.ā€

ā€œThis sport brings in so many different aspects that itā€™s like no other sport on this planet.ā€
