OLB Biggs finds relief in football

Blessed Trinity’s Nathan Biggs didn’t enjoy football as much at first, but now it’s life.

Nathan Biggs grew up playing football for the West Niagara Falcons and the Niagara Generals in the Niagara Regional Minor Football Association. Nathan currently finished his first season with the Blessed Trinity Thunder out of the Niagara Region High School Athletic Association.

“I love defence and my position of outside linebacker because it relieved my stress and I can take out my anger on the field,” said Nathan. “I also love my position because it lets me make hits on people and it is a very fast moving position.”

Nathan models his game after Anthony Walker. Nathan said of Walker, “He is an amazing player from Northwestern.”

In the future, Nathan’s plans are to play Canadian college of university football for any school that would accept him.

We asked Nathan how he thinks he’ll handle the next level of football, he replied, “I think it will be hard at first but I will get used to it after a while like most things.”

For his workouts, Nathan just started going to the gym at 5:45 every morning and lifting weights to get strong for next season.

Before he steps onto the football field, Nathan takes a bath and listens to loud music until 1 hour before he leaves to go, and then he makes himself an electrolyte drink and chills out until he has to leave.

Nathan’s favourite pre-game meal is pasta, and he likes to listen to The Kendrick Lamar and Lil Uzi Vert albums to get game ready.

One of the most influential people in Nathan’s life has been his friend that was diagnosed with cancer before the season started. Nathan explained, “One of the most influential people I know is one of my friends who got cancer right before the season started, he fought it and came back next season better than ever and it was amazing.”

Football is very important in Nathans’ life. “When I was really young I only did it for exercise and because it was a sport, but now it’s my life,” said Nathan.

Nathan concluded, “I’m always trying to improve and be better than the rest, football means the world to me.”
