Okanagan Sun introduce new head coach (2 video interviews)


Jason Casey (former Concordia Stinger DB) was introduced to the media as the new head coach of the Okanagan Sun (CJFL). Casey has been an assistant coach with the Sun since 2007, serving the last three years as their defensive coordinator.

Jason was named the head coach of the Sun March 8, 2011

Jason joined the Sun in 2007, when he coached linebackers and special teams. In 2008 he took over the defensive coordinator role. Jason played his university football at Concordia University (1995-1999), where he was a two-time conference all star and in 1999 was a second team All-Canadian and conference nominee for top defensive player in the country. Jason served as a graduate assistant coach with Concordia in 2000 and was an assistant coach at Loyola High School in Montreal, (2001-2003) prior to joining the OKM Huskies last season. Jason is a cabinet maker by trade, and he and his wife of 5 years, Catherine, own and operate “Casey’s Custom Woodshop” in Kelowna.
