In the 32nd Metro Bowl on Friday afternoon at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke, Adam Zussino and Jesse Alves created offensive magic.
The dynamic duo connected twice as CFC #9 St. Joan of Arc Knights cruised by the CFC #37 Central Technical Blues 35-1 for their first ever OFSAA Bowl win on Friday afternoon.
In the second quarter, Zussino found Alves for an eight yard major. Soon after, Zussino rushed into the end zone for a four yard touchdown.
At halftime, the Knights led 14-1 over the Blues.
The second half was dominated by the Knights. Devin McGuirk snuck into the end zone for a one yard major.
Zussino connected with Alves in the fourth quarter for another eight yard touchdown reception. Matt Mucci caught an interception and returned the ball for a 50 yard major to round out the scoring for the Knights.
Offensively, Zussino had 17 completions in 23 attempts for 217 passing yards. Sean O’Grady and Jayden Kelly both registered five tackles to lead the Knights defense.
As for the Knights, Kadeem Thomas led the defense with eight tackles while Spencer Grayer added five tackles in a losing cause.
