Officials pull plug on Toronto NCAA Bowl game after 4 years

TORONTO – No more Big East Conference means no more International Bowl.
Event organizers pulled the plug on the annual U.S. college football game played at Toronto’s Rogers Centre after failing to renew their contract with the Big East.

The conference provided a team to face a rival from the Mid-American Conference, and without it International Bowl president Don Loding said the decision was made to cease the contest.

Big East schools dominated their MAC opponents in the International Bowl, winning all four games. After Cincinnati edged Western Michigan 27-24 in the inaugural game, the Big East outscored the MAC 117-53 in the last three contests.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
