Ontario standouts join OUA team’s 2014 class

Two offensive standouts from Ontario will play at the CIS level in their home province.

Devin Desjardins and Marvin Gaynor have recently committed to the Windsor Lancers and will join the team for the 2014 OUA season.

DEVIN DESJARDINS:

The 6ā€™1, 275 pound offensive lineman from Windsor, Ontario led the W.F Herman Green Griffins of the Windsor and Essex County Secondary School Athletic Association (WECSSAA) to three OFSAA Bowl victories.

Also, he has suited up for the Essex Ravens of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Desjardins has represented his home province as a member of Team Ontario at the 2013 Football Canada Cup in Moncton, New Brunswick.Ā  Team Ontario brought back the bronze medal home from the tournament.

ā€œDevin is a solid offensive lineman who can play both guard and center,ā€ commented Lancers Head Coach Joe Dā€™Amore.Ā  ā€œHe has been a great player throughout his career winning 3 OFSSAA championships and being part of Team Ontario in a number of occasions, most recently down in Texas for the under-18 team.ā€

ā€œHe is a smart athletic guard who will compete early in his career for playing time.”

Marvin Gaynor

MARVIN GAYNOR:

The 5’9 170 pound running back from Toronto, Ontario joins the Lancers after playing for the Chaminade Gryphons of the Toronto District College Athletic Association (TDCAA).

Additionally, Gaynor has suited up for the Metro Toronto Wildcats of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Marvin Gaynor is game changer at running back, though he is not overly big his speed and deceiving power allows him to be very productive at running back,” assessed D’Amore. Ā “Again we looked to add some explosive players this offseason and we could be more thrilled to add a player of his ability. “
