OFC Junior Players of the Week (3): Beney, Yantz & Crumb

The Ontario Football Conference (OFC) has announced the Junior Players of the Week for Week 3:

Offensive Player of the Week:

Karsten_Beney

Wide Receiver #80 Karsten Beney – Predators Football

Helping to lead his Predators Football team to a 26-25 (OT) victory over the GTA Bears, WR #80 Karsten Beney had a stellar day by completing seven catches for a grand total of 191 yards (long 55) and two touchdowns, earning him the honours of Week 3 OFC Offensive Player of the Week. Karsten is only 19-years old and is currently a first year player with the Predators. According to the Predators organization, Karsten runs very smooth routes and has good speed for the WR position. He also has a great feel for coverage and understands how to get open. When the ball is delivered in his direction, everyone on the team has great confidence that Karsten will make the catch.

Defensive Player of the Week:

Ryan_Yantz

Linebacker #49 Ryan Yantz – Predators Football

Sparking his Predators Football team to narrowly defeat the GTA Bears by a score of 26-25 in overtime, LB #49 Ryan Yantz had a dominant performance on defense with a massive total of 23 points, resulting from nine tackles, three assists, and one fumble recovery, earning him the honours of Week 3 OFC Defensive Player of the Week. Ryan is only 20-years old and is currently a first year player with the Predators. According to the Predators organization, Ryan brings great emotion to the field, along with his aggressive and physical style of play. His desire rubs off on his teammates, lifting their level of play as well.

Special Teams Player of the Week:

Austin_Crumb

Defensive Back #3 Austin Crumb – Windsor AKO Fratmen

Leading his Windsor AKO Fratmen team to a 30-20 victory over the previously unbeaten St. Leonard Cougars, DB #3 Austin Crumb had an outstanding day as he had four carries on punt return for a total of 171 yards (85 long) and one touchdown, and one carry for 86 yards on kick-off return, resulting in yet another touchdown. In total, Austin ran for 257 yards off of five carries, earning him the honours of Week 3 OFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Austin is only 19-years old and is currently a first year player with the AKO Fratmen. According to the Fratmen organization, Austin came over after playing for the University of Windsor last year, and he had an immediate impact on the team. He’s a great player with a team-first attitude.
