Oakville recruit says Blues gives “chance to excel” (VIDEO)

Oakville wide receiver joins OUA team’s 2016 class.

Patrick O’Brien will be starting the next chapter of his career in Toronto.

Recently, the 6’1, 200 pound wide receiver from Oakville, Ontario signed with University of Toronto. Β O’Brien will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

Ultimately, there were several reasons why the offensive standout opted for the Blues.

“University of Toronto is one of the highest ranked universities in Canada and their offer will give me a chance to excel in both academics and athletics,” explained O’Brien. Β “Toronto has outstanding athletic facilities and the support network offered to student athletes is a huge factor in why I decided to sign with University of Toronto.”

“The coaches and players were extremely welcoming and very helpful when I visited the campus. I am very excited to be working with such a professional coaching staff.”

Prevously, O’Brien has suited up for both the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA) and Oakville Titans of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).

“The team has the potential to excel in the upcoming seasons and I am very grateful and excited to be a part of this group,” expressed the wide receiver. Β “I am prepared to make a difference and contribute in any way I can.”
