Nova Scotia recruit opts for Gee-Gees (VIDEO)

Nova Scotia defensive back/receiver joins OUA team’s 2016 class

Luke Oulton will be moving onto the CIS level in the Nation’s Capital.

The 5’10, 168 pound defensive back/receiver committed to the Ottawa Gee-Gees.  Oulton will join the Gee-Gees for the 2016 OUA season.

“I committed to Ottawa because of the experience the coaching staff has, the great business school and the city,” explianed Oulton of his decision.  “I think Ottawa is a great city away from home that I could get a great experience and business degree from!”

However, it wasn’t an easy choice.  After deliberating for quite a length of time, the two-way standout chose the Gee-Gees over local CIS team, Acadia Axemen.

“It was a really hard decision towards the end, it came down between Acadia and Ottawa for me,” added Oulton.  “I live close to Acadia and I’m also really close with the Acadia coaching staff and I think very highly of them, which made it a very tough decision for me.”

Oulton completed a stint with Horton Griffins of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL), where he was a co-captain during the 2015 season.

Moreover, he represented his home province as a member of Team Nova Scotia at the 2015 Football Canada Cup tournament that was held in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
